William Black Memorial United Church

Worship each Sunday at 10 am.

  • The choir singing at Christmas Church Service. THe sanctuary is decorated with wreaths and a tree.
  • The little white wood shingled church in Glen Margaret with a new electronic sign and church hall in the background. There is a small steeple and the walkways are lined by snowbanks on a sunny winter day.
  • The church with its doors wide open welcoming visitors to Doors Open for Churches an event run by Heritage Nova Scotia. The banner over the church door celebrates our 203rd anniversary.

  • William Black Memorial United Church circa 1955. The church has had a steeple added to house a bell donated in memory of two local sons who lost their lives in the war.
  • William Black Memorial United Church circa 1893. The simple rectangular building has no steeple but shows a chimney at the building's centre that is no longer there. The original windows have 9 small panes over 6, with arched tops.

Our Church throughout the year

  • At night a Charlie Brown tree decorated with multi coloured lights stands in front of the church in memory of special friends and family. Light shines from the sanctuary windows.

  • A fund raising poster is framed by a string of Christmas lights that will adorn our outdoor Tribute tree in celebration of loved ones.

  • The Christmas tree that graces our sanctuary is adorned with wooden ornaments on which have been written the names of those we remember and celebrate at Christas time.

  • Most years we hold a large and well attended yard sale. This photo shows tables piled high with donated treasure!

  • Gerald rings the bell to begin service each week. Two visiting teens have been invited to help.
